Pumpkin Carving
Every year i make Mike carve pumpkins with me and he's a good sport :o) This year we didn't get a chance to do it til the Fri before Halloween. It was still fun though (I'm like a little kid!!)

Unfortunately, mine got smashed late Halloween night...oh well....

I tried to get roxy to lick some of the insides but she wasn't havin it.

Millcreek Canyon

A couple Sundays ago my family decided to go have Sunday Dinner up the canyon. We usually take a picnic, some s'mores and walk around to look at the beautiful changing season. Despite this time being FREEZING it was still fun!!

Poor Rox got TOO close and fell in the chilly water...

Some Mac-N-Cheese made her happy though.

-So me and my dad decided to try and hike Dog Lake one last time for the year(it was at the beginning of October)...the drive up was beautiful with all the changing leaves! But little did we know there was A FOOT of SNOW on the trail! We toughed thru it though and still did the whole hike. :o)

Roxy REALLY wanted to catch this squirrel, unfortunately it didn't happen, but it did keep running up and down the tree. I think it was TAUNTING her!!!

Sunday Sept 26th was KYLE'S Farewell and he did SUCH a Awesome job speaking! He is going to be a Spectacular MISSIONARY! He left for the MTC Wed Sept. 30th and he's there until Nov. 30th- thats when he takes off to Oaxaca Mexico! He's already been gone a MONTH! I just hope the next 23 months goes by this fast :o)

Ol' "Barks"- In Loving Memory- We'll Miss You!

Well- after almost sixteen years of fun, our old dog, Barkley a.k.a. "barks", had to finally be put to sleep. It was a very tough decision but it was his time to return to doggie heaven :o) I think all us kids took it kinda hard. Poor Ky had to go to the Vet with my dad and this was the text he sent me after: "Farewell my ol' friend Barkley, your cries and itches will forever be in our memory...As well as all those good memories! Wow that was a lot harder then I thought." I called him right after I received that text and the poor guy was crying, thats when my tears started (but they didn't waterfall til I got home). Its so weird to think that something like this could make me so sad...but we had him for almost sixteen years!, thats what?... He was 112 in dog years!

This is in memory of our good dog Barks..........

It all started one warm spring afternoon in May I believe it was, my parents had been promising us a puppy since our other dog, Aggie, had got sick and had to be put to sleep. So while debating and looking through the newspaper my mom said we had to get a "cocka-poo" (cocker spaniel poodle mix/ mutt) well we all thought that was lame- we wanted a "cool" dog. But mom said it was that or nothing.
So my dad found some in the paper and the three kids and him took a ride to check them out. When we arrived there were 5 or 6 black and white puppies in a box, my dad asked again to make sure they were "cocka-poos" and the lady said they were. Well then he asked to see one of the parent dogs- well they were momentarily unavailable for some reason (obviously probably because they WEREN'T really "cocka-poos") Well my dad shoulda known better then to bring us cuz we weren't leaving with out one! We had already picked him out and were ready to go!

So here he is! He was SOOO freakin cute! (Turns out he's a border collie/springer spaniel mix). How we got the name Barkley?! I have no idea- my brothers are really into the NBA but i don't know if they really like Charles Barkley. I think they were just talking about charles barkley and then our neighbor Michelle said Why don't you name him Barkley? and it stuck.

This is by far one of the cutest pictures ever!! One of my favorites :o) Kyle LOVED Barkley so much! He slept with him almost every night!!

My mom had made a mini-scrapbook one christmas of all his pets- so thats why all these pics are so CUTE! I just copied them straight out of the book :o)

Yes- we tried to dress them up ONE year for Halloween. It didn't turn out too well.

I'm not sure if Barks ever REALLY like Rox- i think she was too much for him in his old age and she definitely annoyed him but we did get them to pose for a few pics together (thanks to Jo and Ky)

In the end Barks was just getting old and hurting. One of his back legs no longer worked, he was deaf, very stinky :o), had severe allergies where he would pull all his hair out and his anxiety was thru the roof, he just cried ALL the time. None of us wanted to put him down but it was the only nice thing to do for him. Hopefully he's in heaven, chasing birds once again and playing with all the other creatures we have had!! :o)

Me, Mike and Roxy took a small trip down to St George for some fun in the sun at the lake. It was totally a blast but that doesn't include the Emergency Vet Saturday night for 'swimmers ear' and breaking my toes- no- that is not included in the definition of FUN. So for the most part it was way fun- its always nice to get away for a little...
PS theres a whole load of pics of Rox so be prepared :o)

Ah yes- the "Travelodge" pretty ghetto but hey for only 30 bucks a night- whatever.

There was more frisbee throwing and fetching then i think we have EVER done!

So nearing the end of our trip on Sunday, i totally tripped and ate it on a wet rock. So these are my beautiful, bruised and constantly aching toes. The middle three are totally beaten up and my whole foot it swollen ( we think little #4 is broken and possible #3 ) what a way to end a relaxing weekend!! Ah! and no comments about my grown out glitter toes! Thats OBVIOUSLY gonna have to wait now :o(

Izzy, Roxy and Tank

These are the girls i work with (Randi and Tricia) well- trish left us and started hygiene school and randi's moving to St George in Dec. so i'll be bymyself again!! Sheesh!

Tank is only 2 months old so he could hold still long enough for pics!!

Roxy is a total water dog- she could be dead tired and that won't stop her from swimming! She'd fetch the stick in the water til she drowned cuz she'd never stop!!

She tired to show how the other dogs how to swim but they weren't buying it- she'd swim out and fetch it and Izzy would steal it as soon as she got close enough.

Me and Mike totally went to the Taking Back Sunday and Blink 182 concert last night. Can we say AWESOME??!! It was an amazing show- and this sweet stunt Travis did while DRUMMING the whole time and spinning... WOW... this pic doesn't even give it remotely enough justice to how freaking cool it was!!

Mike has been a fan of Blink for like ever and I have for a pretty long time so it was so much freakin fun!! Concerts are the best when you go and you know every single song they play! And the next day you can't hear or speak is pretty awesome too :o) Oh have i told you yet that it was a BLAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MY LITTLE BROTHERS GOIN' ON A MISSION! Oh my gosh- its so freakin' crazy! i swear he can't be that old! Well he is! Big Little Kyle is going to Oaxaca, Mexico September 30th. I think i am going to cry right now. We just took him through the temple Thurs night and it was amazing! I am so so so proud of him and scared to death for him! My Little Brothers are so big now!

Oh- and i did mention a crazy WEEK right?! Well! Celeste's fam is intown for the wedding so tomorrow (Monday) we have a shower, Tues we have the rehearsal dinner and Wed they are getting married!!! Yay!! Congrats Jordan and Celeste! I'm just so excited and there's so much going on...oh my gosh... i could probably cry :o)

Every year we drive to Doniphan, Nebraska for the 4th of July. It's where Mike grew up and his parents still live! It was such a blast and i love being able to see everyone! Once or twice a year isn't enough!!

We actually drove my truck out (yes all the way out- 12 hours!) and took mikes dirt bike so he could ride with his brother shay.Then we also brought back a second dirt bike....

Oh- i guess WEED just happens to grow everywhere. Its against the law to pick it but who's REALLY gonna listen, i mean come on... Shay and Mike sure don't :o)

We were all pretty hardcore as you can tell-

Sunday we spent the day at Sandhollow Lake!! Its gorgeous and probably my second favorite lake to go too! (Lake Powell is definitely first!)

Mike can lay in the sun for hours... I dunno how he does it... I have to get in the water like every 5 minutes!

There were alot of 'Intense' games- like this frisbee one

And water frisbee.... you weren't allowed to play unless you "drive for that frisbee!"

I have no explanation but it made me laugh... Good luck Celeste!! :o)

It definitely was not a long enough weekend and I am already planning to go down again and spend the WHOLE time at the lake. Oh and I'm taking roxy because she LOVES it!

Mount Olympus

This weekend was our first adventure up Mount Olympus this year...Man it was harder then i remember! :o) -sorry! i took TONZ of pics i know!!-

CRAZY, gorgeous view!! (Sweet bandana i know but trust me- i NEEDED it!!)

towards the end there was snow, but it was a welcomed sight because we were SO hot!!

check out the trail- you totally feel like you're gonna die on the way up but by the time you reach the top youre so proud of yourself for making it!! YAY!!

Our rattlesnake encounter- i think i almost wet my pants!

Poor roxy was pretty pooped and starting to limp cuz she was so sore already- the first time every year she struggles- so JO gave her a lift down (we were ALMOST done)

We made it up and back down in a little less then five hours (then my crazy dad who is the original energizer bunny went on a 15 mile bike ride!) and it was awesome!! I am excited as i get ready to hike it, hate it while we're hiking it and love it once we reach the car!
We will be doing this adventure may more time this summer for anyone who is up to a Challenge!! :o)

So our season of snowboarding is pretty much spent- I believe- we were going to end it tomorrow but unfortunately Michael cracked some ribs in his fight class, so I don't think boarding would be very pleasant.
We usually go every Saturday in the winter and I'm sad it's over (it went by so quickly)...I'm already looking forward to a new season and new snow!!! :o)

Emily is just learning and she totally got the hang of it on her SECOND time- next year she'll probably be pro!! :o)

Oh- and i have a shout out for my lil' bro, Jordan, who PROPOSED to his GF, Celeste Curtis, today! Heck yeah! She's gonna fit right in and i'm so EXCITED for them!! CONGRATS!!

So this year for Valentines Emily and Jeff invited us to go to LAS VEGAS with them and stay with Jeff's awesome sister and bro-in-law, Jodi and Allan. Of coarse we couldn't pass that up and we had a BLAST!!

Friday night the boys had made a reservation for dinner at an Italian place called BRIO- let me just tell you- it was the BEST Italian food I have ever had! Good Job Hubbies!
The restaurant was gorgeous, the atmosphere was amazing, and the food was awesome!!

The lights in VEGAS are sweet at night- i LOVE it!!

Saturday we woke up and decided to sight see and people watch. We basically walked the ENTIRE strip- it took us about 6 and a half hours. It didn't seem like that long though.

It so fun to sight-see. I swear every time I go there's new stuff and things always being built. There are some GORGEOUS places- especially the Bellagio and Mandlay Bay.

This NARELY bike was a fav amoung the boys.

Well- I talked everyone into going to SIEGFRIED & ROY'S SECRET GARDEN cuz I have ALWAYS wanted to go....

They had a cool dolphin tank but we didn't get to see any of the little ones. We did get to see this little one- he's a baby leopard and only a few months old. I think he had more stuffed animals in his room then most kids.

Here are my FAVORITE! I have always LOVED white tigers from ever since I was teeny tiny. This guy was gi-normous, there was only one though, I don't know what happened to the one that tried to eat Roy (or whoever).

They also had this orange tiger (I wish i coulda gotten better pics but I'm still experimenting with my new camera). I think he was sick of all the pictures though cuz he walked down to the fence and pee'd on some lady trying to get a close-up of him. :o)

And more of my favorites! I think i spent the most time at the cage right here- i could have spent ALL day there! Inside were 5 baby white tigers and 1 orange guy. They were only 9 MONTHS old and already huge.

They played the whole time we watched them and never rested- it was AWESOME! I want one for a pet....

These big fellas didn't move the whole time we were there. I think one of them was Mufasa. :o)

Here are the leopard parents- they were very chill as well.

And randomly- a bunch of Alpacas.

The GARDEN part of the "Garden" was also very pretty...

We ate at ESPN Zone Saturday afternoon cuz the boys wanted too- it was pretty cool and there was a crap load of TV's with every sport on you could think of!!

VALENTINES night we bought tickets to see MYSTERE at Treasure Island. It was AMAZING! I think I was gapping in amazement the whole time! I highly recommend it to everyone when they go to VEGAS it was SPECTACULARLY AWESOME!!! :O) oh- did i mention that Mike got pulled on stage?! Yeah he did- his worse nightmare... You'll have to ask him about it...

JAM PACKED JANUARY!!

LETS FIRST START WITH NEW YEARS...
We hung out with Emily and Jeff (of coarse) and started the night off at Iggys so they boys could watch the LSU game- and whatever other game was on.

Then we traveled down town and wandered around- it was quite interesting to say the least... huh em... :o)

Then we had reservations at The Melting Pot for dessert. I hadn't ever been there before but had always wanted too so I was way excited. Our reservation came with a little gift bag filled with sparkling cider, gobblets, those poppy firework things, and other fun nick-nacks to celebrate! It was SO fun! Well our night didn't end there- we went back to our place and played a little Guitar Hero World Tour- oh yeah- and by a little, um, til like three in the morning! We're definitely going to have to battle Dellany and Tremayne soon!!!

THEN I BASICALLY HAD A BIRTHDAY WEEK...
yup- the BIG 25! My Aunt and I celebrate our birthdays at the same little family get together but this year she incorporated the boys' Fantasy Football Dinner. . .

My cousin Cole orchestrates this whole fantasy football thing- every summer at our family vacation the boys all choose their football teams and whatever- then battle all year long. Then at the end of football season, Cole gives out funny awards and gag gifts to everyone. It's hilarious!

Mike received these AWESOME football sunglasses and an award stating that his bench scored more points then his actual team- or something like that ???

Kyle won the whole thing- so he gets the famous crown (that'll be passed on next year), a trophy and some bling. :o)

Well and on top of those two events it was also the CHARGERS VS STEELERS game (we being Chargers fans -sorry Haley- and the Bensons being Steelers fans my aunt coordinated a whole football dinner for the game. Look how creative and cute she is.....

TUESDAY JANUARY 13TH
was my true life birthday :o) and since it was in the middle of the week and i had to work, we just went to dinner with Emily, Jeff, Michelle, and Scott. It's become a tradition to go to Tepyanaki on my birthday so thats where we went. I love that place!
I also have to add that Mike gave me a sweet new camera for the birthday!! Its freakin awesome!! There's gonna be much more picture takin' around these parts...

NEW ADDITION TO THE FAM
A few days later we had a new addition to our family in Nebraska. Mike's brother, Ryan, and his wife, Anna, had a little girl. Meet Addie-

She is so freakin cute, I can't wait til this summer to meet her! Only she'll be 6 months old!! :o( Speaking of meeting someone-

JOHNSON CHRISTMAS PARTY
Merry Merry Christmas! Yay! I had such a fun week! :o) Last Sat we went to my Grandma Johnsons house (Dads mom) and had our christmas get-together with that side of the family. We don't get to see my cousins and their kids that much so it was good to see them all! Plus - my favorite is my Aunt Julie and Uncle Dana (my grandma lives in their basement- anyways) they have two golden retriever puppies. . . well they are puppies but they're a year old so they are actually pretty gigantic, we have so much fun playing with them. (Probably cuz me, mike, ky, jo and celelste are the only ones there that don't have kids!! :o)

CHRISTMAS EVE
Christmas Eve we just get together at my parents house to eat, watch 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' (kyles fav) and play games. Its usually just my family and my mom's sister, Chris's family.

PAJAMA TIME
The past two years me and mike have slept over at my parents on Christmas eve- last year because Jordan was FINALLY back from his mish and this year because next Christmas Kyle will be on his mission. So one of our family traditions is one Christmas Eve we get to open one present and its always PJ's!! :o) The boys always match too- it's cute.

My mom bought mine from VS (and i love them- they have the Victorias Secret dog on the checkers so of coarse i do!!) and the boys' pants had elk heads one them- she tried to make them some what manly :o) ha!

I know I know- we love our dogs so here they are again- but there are no children in the family so someone has to entertain. . . yes barkley knows how to open presents. (Roxys too wussy)

My poor hubby has such sensitive eyes when it comes to the flash :o) but he's a good sport and puts up with all the pictures anyways :o) LOVE YOU!

This pic of ky is the best- my parents surprised him with a trip to San Diego this weekend to see a Chargers game (he's their #1 fan) and since he'll be leaving this fall for his mission, my parents wanted to do something really cool for him. That is his "shocked" face- it took him about 3 minutes to really realize what it was. My dad, Ky and Jo are leaving this sat (yeah- in two days) and coming back monday. The games Sunday and they are staying in the HardRock Hotel. . . it's supposed to be a big game too- he was completely speechless, it was very cute. :o)

Roxy is my chunky monkey- she's spoiled so she gets TOO MANY treats :o)

My mom also made Kyle a mini scrapbook of all his football years- it was amazing! She has such an awesome talent! I wish i could post it some how and show it off!

BREAKFAST AT GRANDMA JO'S

After all the present opening we go to my Grandmas for a giant, yummy breakfast and more presents :o)

My Grandma's husband, Kyle, actually had a 'heart attack' last sunday so we were just glad he was well and able to be with us today! (It wasn't an actual 'heart attack'- his heart just stopped beating in the middle of church! good thing he was sitting next to a retired EMT who gave him CPR and saved him). It was a perfect Christmas!!

This weekend was crazy busy with stuff to do but it was SO much fun! Friday after working a half day, I ran some errands (picked up Mike's surprise Christmas present) and then raced home to get ready for the Kurt Bestor Christmas Concert. My mom has made it a tradition to go every year and my family loves it! He plays the most beautiful Christmas music! We met at Olive Garden around 5 and then were off to the concert! If you guys have never been- I highly suggest it! :o) Mike and Kyle count down the days til this concert!
No one really knows what this weird thing is, this 'piece of art', in the Abravanal Hall (i don't think i spelled that right) but we love it.... it's so cool in a weird way.

And then sat we ran around and did MORE errands because Adam (Mike's bro) is coming on Tues to stay with us. He is actually leaving on his mission Wed! So he's flying in Tues night and hanging out with us and then Mike's taking him to the MTC on Wed. So anyways we went to the distribution center and Deseret Book just to get him some stuff. Then that night we helped out at my parents ward Christmas Party. My mom had to plan it so she was WAY stressed! We helped set up and clean up, plus got a free dinner and it was so fun to see my old ward! Especially how much everyone has grown up (mostly the little girls i had in nursery two years ago).So yeah. . .the end.

On Thanksgiving we went over to my Aunt Chris's house for a monstrously huge dinner :o) It was awesome! After we gave it about ten minutes to digest (is all!!) all the boys always go out and have a football game. This year somehow I was recruited (there's an odd number of guys but my Aunt usually plays) - but I was TOTALLY down. I brought a change of clothes and we took off to a park. Well- I have to say I did pretty well in keeping up :o) but man! who know you could sweat THAT MUCH outside in the cold!! Geez! We played for a good hour and a half and we were all drenched. . . it was pretty gross. So don't mind the awesome pictures, we're sweaty messes. . .

It was a blast though and it definitely made some room for pie!!

Then the next Sunday my family come out to our house for 'Sunday Dinner'. We always go to my parents every Sunday and I thought this Sunday me and Mike could make dinner.
Ok- really I just wanted my mom to help me with my Christmas tree. She does such an amazing job and I definitely didn't inherit that talent. So I have to show off how cute it is and what a spectacular job she did!!! :o)

And I didn't have anything for the top so she creatively wired some ornaments and a gold tig and made a bow! oh cool is that- i never woulda though of it :o)

Real Salt Lake Playoff Game

Mikes boss has a skybox at the Real Salt Lake Soccer stadium and invited us to join them at the playoff game. It was super cold but really fun!

The boys also got passes to go down on the field before the game started- they thought they were so cool!! :o)

Well last Friday was the second round of play offs and unfortunately Jordan didn't win. It was against Bingham which was a really hard draw since they are really really good. It ended up being Kyle's last high school football game he'll ever play. We were hoping to at least make it a good game but too bad it ended up being pretty bad- i think that made it a little harder for him. After the game, me and mike went to go find him and at least tell him he had a good game (cuz he really did, we could tell he was trying his hardest) and when he saw me he just gave me a great big sweaty hug and i looked up at him and he had tears streaming down his face! I started bawling!! My little bro was so sad and i had never seen him like that before! The big tough football player and he was crying! I told him i loved him and mike came over and gave him a huge hug and told him he did awesome and to keep his head up- when kyle walked away i hugged mike and noticed he had tears in his eyes and was all choked up. Wow- that made it harder. I just want kyle to know how much i love him and what an awesome 'All American' player he is, and we are all so so so proud of him!! We enjoyed every game and i know after his mish he'll play college ball somewhere! Keep that in mind bud! After all you've been through- knee surgery and fracture foot and still playing your heart out! You'll do a spectacular job for some college and we'll come to every game promise!! I love you buddy!!

Last Wednesday Mike's work made us all go to the Grizzlies Hockey game- I guess his work (X-Insurance) is sponsoring something there ??? but Mike Jeff and Trent had to go out on the ice after the 2nd period and throw t-shirts and then we left. Hockey's games are ok fun i guess but i mostly don't understand whats going on and the Grizzlies definitely aren't very good. :o) But me Em and Ali had a fun time entertaining ourselves . . .

This is our new lil' nephew Gaberial Hayman! He's so cute! He's the first Hayman grandson for Mike's parents and second grandson overall! He has 4 older sisters and two girls cousins! We are so excited- he's a little over a week old (I believe he was born on Oct. 29th but i'm not positive). The only sad thing is the first time we actually get to meet him will probably not be til next July and he'll be almost a year old!!

Saturday was Emilys B-I-R-T-H-D-A-Y!! Whoo big 25! Don't worry I'm right behind ya!! However we decided to celebrate it on Friday (since none of us had any exciting plans for Halloween). Emily and Jeff were nice enough to accompany us to the Jordan football game since it was the first round of playoffs (they played Spanish Fork) . It was an early game so we promised to buy Em dinner and show her a good time that night :o) It turned out to be a pretty close (and stressful game- not to mention it rained off and on which is never fun) but Jordan ended up with the victory 36-33! Yay! And Kyle received the Student Achievement and Academic Award (or whatever) at half time! We are so proud of him! He was especially embarrassed because the game was televised. Anyways- thanks so much to Em and Jeff for coming with us it means a lot and Mike likes the company cuz the rest of us are glued to the game. :o)

After the game, we were pretty wet and cold, so Em decided some Papa Johns BBQ chicken pizza and a couple hours of Guitar Hero would do the trick! We ate a lot of pizza and jammed out til almost one in the morning!! Crazy! Emily totally killed it on the mic and i have to say I'm a pretty mean bassist! It was tons of fun- he he he- we'll have to rock out some more Em!!

So this week, because of UEA, Kyle's football game was on Wednesday. It was against Skyline and also up at Skyline, now for the past years Skyline has been pretty good and so we were ALL nervous! Jordan was going in as a big underdog. . . But guess what?! They played awesome and kicked some major butt!! Congrats Jordan for an spectacular victory 41-21!!!

Then on Friday night we decided to drive down and meet Michelle and Katy (hubby's and children included) for dinner since we never get to see them! It was so much fun and Kate's and Michelle's little ones are growing so fast already- it's crazy! But they are so darn cute!

Ok- so i was trying to get Mike to look at the camera but obviously he was a butt and not doing so on purpose :o) but i was trying to show you guys a glimpse of the 'mullet in process' Yes my husband is growing a mullet. . . its not TOO noticeable right now except when he gets outta the shower. But I'll post a final pic when it's done :o) He's so funny-

And of coarse we wanted our men (mine and Ems') to take a pic of us girls, but they had to snap one of each other first. . . :o) that's Jeff with Emily's sweet new camera.

Mike and I just got back from Nebraska- we decided to drive out for a couple days and be there for my sister-in-laws wedding. We left on Wed after work and began the awesomely boring 12-hour drive. (It doesn't seem as bad once you're to your destination) but we only made it to a little town called North Platt, NE because we were so exhausted from working all day and there was still a good 2 1/2 hours left. So we spent the night at a Ramada Inn.

This was Mike being angry-he's the one flipping the bird :o)- at all the slow traffic and all the construction, also me not caring because I'm not driving, and Mike singing probably some Blink 182. :o)
We arrived Thursday around noon and just rested! Driving that much is exhausting! We went around the neighborhood and said hi to all his fam and visited his parents at work. Thursday and Friday basically consisted of resting (I mean being Extremely lazy), football and Rock Band.

After I had taken a cute picture of my nieces Cadence and Eden and the boys rockin' out, Cadence asked if she could take a picture of me and her most favorite Leopard 'Nancy"- so there it is.
Saturday we all made the 3 hour drive to Omaha, to the temple for Erin and Adams Wedding! (We didn't have to leave til noon so i didn't have to get up early!!) It was a wonderful ceremony and it had been raining ALL day, every day but Saturday was beautiful!!
Our nieces and one nephew looked so cute! I can't believe there's almost ALL girls! There isn't a Hayman nephew yet- two Hayman sister-in-laws are prego though. But Anna (above) is having a girl and Kinsey and Matt (parents of four of the above girls!!) don't find out the sex of their kids so I guess it'll be a surprise!! :o) I think everyone is hoping for a boy but expecting a girl. . .
So after the temple- since everyone was out in Omaha, we all went to The Amazing Pizza Machine (Erin and Adam aren't having a reception til next weekend)- so Erin thought it'd be really fun for all the kids. This place was CRAZY! Like Chuck-E-Cheese on steroids and yet so much cooler. They rented out a Nebraska football themed room (the older boys' heaven) and then there were endless games, rides, go-karts, mini golf. We were there from 6:30 to 10 pm! It was such a blast! Unfortunately Mike and I had to awake the next morning at 6 am and drive home. . . but we made it!!

Oh yeah- I got schooled in air hockey and my butt kicked in Go-Karts- I talk a lot of trash but Mike was the winner! ;o)

Ha! I know no one is sicking of me bragging about Kyle. . . but whats an older sister with a blog SUPPOSED to do!! :o) here are his pics from Ohio where they did awesome!! They are such sweet, nice boys- even after all the Ohio fans boo'ed them off the field, they still went back out and helped clean up garbage on the Jordan side!!

So my awesome bro Kyle and the whole Jordan Football team was invited out to Ohio to take part in the Kirk Herbsteirt Challenge. Kirk Herbsteirt is one of the guys off ESPN and he was hosting a football challenge in his home state of Ohio, to my understanding I believe that all the Ohio high schools got to play an out-of-state team that had been invited. Well JHS was invited the end of last year and everyone was so excited. . . then Kyle hurt his knee and had to have surgery. Well my whole family has been stressing for him, "is he going to be ready to go to Ohio?"
Well everyone- we just listened to the Massillon from Canton, Ohio Vs. Jordan from Sandy, Utah game and WE WON!! 27 to 24! Field goal in the last five seconds to win the game!It was such a CLOSE game the whole time! I had anxiety the whole time! I can't even imagine my poor mom. :o) Kyle had an awesome game! The announcers mentioned him several times, gave his bio, and kept refering to the three bohemith guys on Jordans line (Kyle, Vincent Jones, and Tyler Larson)!!!! It was spectacular! He's such an awesome kid! I love him and I am so proud of the Jordan team especially since people thought they had no chance-that Utah high school football just isn't the same is Ohio football. Ha! Take that!!!

Oh yeah....Mount Olympus! This is one of the hardest hikes I have ever encountered in my 24 years of life!! Every year and every attempt I think "it won't be TOO hard this time- I've already hike it three times this year, I"m in some what decent shape" - oh no! It's hard everytime! But this is my tribute to Mount Olympus because it is absolutely gorgeous! My dad introduced me to this hike about 6 years ago and since then I have hiked it about 25-30 times. It never gets easier :o) Of the 30 times, I have probably only hiked the full 6 hours maybe 12 times, yep, 6 hours. It takes about 4 hours to hike to the top and 2-21/2 on the way back down! Crazy huh? And thats only getting to the shoulder of the mount, if you want to go to the very tip top, tack on another 45 mins to boulder your way to the top!
So today I dragged my good-sport man to Mount Olympus promising we'd only hike a couple hours and be home for the U game (Go Utes!). We got up early and hiked for around 3 hours and I have to say I really appreciate Mike coming on all these hikes with me (even though most of the time I think he REALLY doesn't want too), its just not as fun when you're by yourself. Thanks Mike! I Love You!

One thing I have inherited from my dad is I am a sucker for scenery shots. So today's hike was all about scenery pics, especially cuz after a half hour into it I was a sweaty mess. There's a pic to prove that at down further. :o)

These pictures don't really do justice about how pretty it is up there! You get going up the mountain and you can see ALL of Salt Lake Valley, it's amazing!!

This rocky part is usually my favorite because in the spring and later in the fall its filled with water coming from everywhere, little waterfalls coming down the sides of rocks and everything. But in the middle/end of summer, it dries up.

As for my completely energy filled dog, that my parents or I know what to do with, this hike completely wipes her out! She'll sleep the rest of the day and probably most of tomorrow!
I tried to show the trail that we followed up the side of the mountain, double click and I think you can totally see it!!

24th of July Weekend (Dog Lake and Camping with the Wests and Webbs), 2 Concerts, and the IMMAE in Long Beach, CA

Over the 24th of July weekend, Mike, Roxy and I hiked up to Dog Lake in Millcreek Canyon. Its one of my most favorite hiking spots of all time! It takes about 2 1/2 hours to hike up and back down but its so nice because its not too tough so we definitely get to enjoy the scenery! :o) Roxy loves it because at the top there's a rather large pond (or you could call it a lake) and all the dogs swim and play fetch in it, she's definitely a water dog. I highly recommend it to everyone that has a dog and wants to go hiking or if you're just looking for a beautiful hike!

We also went camping with Em, Jeff, Emily's parents, and Emily's sis, Sage, and sorta BF, Levi, over the 24th. Emily's grandparents own some land up by Mirror Lake (practically in Wyoming!) so we drove up there Friday afternoon and stayed to night. It was gorgeous (except for all the bugs! I wasn't there for more then five mins and got a mosquito bite! I had bug spray on too!) It was so nice and cool- we cooked steaks for dinner and made s'mores when it got dark. The next morning Dean and Kelly cooked us breakfast which was totally awesome and so nice of them :o) After the boys went fishing for a couple hours and us girls just sat back read our books and enjoyed the surroundings. We were going to stay Sat night but not long after about 2 o'clock huge black thunder clouds started rolling in with some crazy thunder, so we thought it'd be best to pack up and take off.

Mike took his dirt bike to ride some trails that were up there, and these two pics are my sad attempt at trying to take a pic of us trying to set up our tent and of me and Em when no one was around. :o)

Mike and I also attended the Motley Crue Concert and the James Taylor Concert. I don't know why I always just take one pic in the car, probably because I don't want to lug it around with me but I regretted it this time. I wish I would have taken it in the the Motley Crue show and shared my amazement and complete awe with you guys at what kind of white trash people Utah can produce. Don't get me wrong there were tons of normal people there but wow- Mike and I definitely had a good time people watching thats for sure. All the money was totally worth it, we were definitely entertained. The James Taylor concert was chill and awesome. It was a perfect summers night and I realized I knew more of his music then I thought I did. Also he is a very funny man!! :o)

And finally we just got back from Long Beach on Sunday, where Mike was sent for work. Jeff, Emily, Mike and I all went out to the IMMAE (International Mixed Martial Arts Expo) where Jeff and Mike had to work and me and Em just hung out. It was awesome. For those who don't know what MMA is, maybe you've heard of the UFC, if not- it's a sport mixing wrestling, boxing, ju jit su, and all that guy stuff. Well Mike is really into it and was REALLY excited for this expo. Over the years he's kinda gotten me into it (I know who people are but I don't know the names of moves and stuff) and slowly we have gotten Emily and Jeff into it. So anyways we were ALL really excited because 1- it was a retail show that means i got to buy lots of stuff and 2- there were going to be a bunch of famous fighters there. So thats what happened, us four hung out at the Expo Fri, Sat, and Sun, bought a lot of cute clothes, made some weird friends and met a lot of cool fighters!!

Me and Em decided to join our hubbys to California because their company was paying for almost everything and because they could use our help setting up their booth. (We probably weren't really much help) but it still took over three hours to set up!! Mike and Jeff work for Prime Insurance ( x insurnace. com) which insures high risk things, such as the fighters themselves, or the gyms, cages, events, etc. thats why they were sent to this Expo.

We also got to go out every night and try the local restaurants and see the sights so it wasn't all work and no play. :o)

One of Mikes very favorite fighters is BJ Penn and he was actually attending the expo on Sat- so me and Em befriended his mom and actually his manager. We all got to meet him before he even sat down at his booth and Mike and Jeff also got autographed fight shorts. They were so excited!Yay!

Our 12-Day Vacation! First half: Nebraska

We just got back last Sat from our 12 day vacation we have been looking forward too! Every year we go out to Nebraska for the 4th of July and then later we usually go on a summer trip with my family, well this year they fell one right after another! It was a blast!

First we flew out to Nebraska- in the smallest plane I have ever been in and we landed at the smallest airport ever! (I tried to snap a picture but I was shoo'ed inside) We spent 6 days just relaxing and playing in the lake that is in Mike's parents backyard. It was like bath water and the have a water trampoline so it was SO fun! Then along came the 4th of July and man its CRAZY! We go over to Mike's cousin Dallas' house- now in Nebraska everything is pretty much legal as far as fireworks go- so in Dallas' whole neighborhood all the streets are blocked off for the show. Every single house on his entire street had people over and were lighting massive fireworks!! I wish I had had a video camera, it was AWESOME chaos. So we had a show in the front yard for about an hour, then we moved our chairs to the back and watched the display put on by the park just behind his house. And no- it wasn't over yet. . . everyone went back out front for another hour of fireworks! I have never seen that many fireworks EVER! But i have to say it was spectacular!! So then Sunday came and me and Mike flew straight to San Diego to meet my family. Lets just say that was the worst flight ever! We flew into Dallas and were supposed to only have an hour and half layover- we'd leave Dallas around 8:oo pm and get into California about 10ish- but no, it got delayed 5 hours!! We didn't reach California til after 2:30 am. Wow we were so tired. My poor dad had to stay up and come pick us up!

My Grandma had rented us a beach house that was walking distance of the ocean. It was awesome! I was kind of expecting it to be a little junky, a little sandy, but it was so nice! There were gorgeous flowers front and back yard and it had a water fall in the huge backyard. There was a ping pong table and darts out on the deck, it was fully stocked with boogie boards, a surf board and beach bikes! It was freakin sweet! (Thanks Grandma!) Well the first thing we did Monday is spend the day at the beach- I haven't been to San Diego in a couple years so I was expecting it to be SOOO hot like Nebraska was but it was just the opposite. It was high 70's most of the days and only one day it was kinda chilly. It was the perfect weather just to lay on the beach all day! The water-however- was so cold that you would just jump in wait for your body to go numb then start enjoying it! :o) I also forgot how salty the ocean is- Then Tues we went to SEAWORLD! Mike has never been there and it has been years for me! It was so much for though! We went to all of the show and all of the exhibits! We spent like 10 hours there! So Wed was of coarse the beach again and then on Thurs we were on a kayaking tour of La Jolla beach. It was beautiful out there and there is some monstrous houses too! We met a family of sea lions that live off the coast and even got to tour a small cave that walls shimmered different colors- it was REALLY cool. Friday was more beach and that night Mike and I met up with his brother Ryan and wife Anna who live out in Cali. They took us to get sushi and unfortunately for me, who doesn't like ANY sea food, that was an adventure. There were actually some ok rolls and I made it through dinner :o) Finally Sat came and we had to fly home, it was pretty sad- i love it there.

So after we got home and unpacked and all that fun stuff we (Emily and Jeff also) went to the GOOD CHARLOTTE concert! Yay! We bought the tickets a long time ago because i really like them! They came with a small band called The Maine, who weren't bad, Metro Station, who i actually kind of like I just know their one song on the radio, Boys Like Girls, who were pretty good and Good Charlotte was awesome! It was so much fun!
Next up on our list of tours: Motley Crue and James Taylor :o)
